Every study app promises it will turn your notes into something useful. The honest way to prove it is to let you drop in a page and watch. So the card at the top of the SKØØLSKILL homepage now does exactly that, for anyone, with no account and nothing stored.
What you can drop in
The card takes the material students actually have:
- Photos. Up to three pages, straight from your camera roll. iPhone photos in HEIC format work too.
- A PDF. A handout, a slide deck, a chapter.
- Typed notes. Paste a paragraph. One is enough.
- A link. A YouTube lesson of up to 90 minutes, or an article page. We read the transcript or the text and work from that.
Press Build my practice and the progress list shows what is happening: reading your material, writing your flashcards, writing your practice questions, getting your tutor ready.
Your first cards in about twenty seconds
You do not wait for the whole thing to finish. The first flashcards appear within about twenty seconds, even from a photo, and a Start practising button appears with them. The quiz and the tutor keep being written in the background while you flip. By the time you have been through the cards, the questions are usually waiting, and the tutor has a short lesson ready on the page you gave it.
The deck is written from your own wording, in the language of the page you are on. Open the Dutch homepage and you get Dutch cards, whatever your browser says.
Nothing is stored
This is the part we care most about. A run creates nothing: no account, no note, no folder, nothing in a library, because you do not have one yet. The run is kept for an hour so you can finish it, and any file you uploaded is deleted within a day. If you decide to sign up, you start clean and scan the page again properly, this time into a course you own.
The same rule applies to the numbers we keep. If you have not accepted cookies, the tool leaves no session behind at all. We count that it was opened and whether the run finished, as a daily total that identifies nobody.
On every landing page, in eleven languages
The tool is not only on the homepage. Every SKØØLSKILL landing page carries the same card, so wherever you arrive, from a search for maths help in Portuguese or a link a friend sent, you can try it before you read a word of marketing.
A free run reads three pages. When you want the whole stack, create an account and the scanner takes it from there, with adaptive practice and Nova waiting behind it.
